My design process connects research, product strategy, prioritization, interaction design, and continuous learning to create products grounded in how people actually work.

These six areas show how I move from understanding a problem to shaping product direction, translating insights into design, and improving the experience after launch.

Beyond the Interface

Product design is a continuous decision-making process.

The visible interface is only one part of the work.

Before a screen is designed, the team must understand the problem, identify the people and workflows affected, evaluate competing opportunities, and agree on what success should look like.

My role is to connect those decisions. I use research, product thinking, design exploration, collaboration, and measurement to turn complex needs into focused experiences that support confident action.

Clarity comes from understanding the decision behind the screen.

The strongest product experiences do more than present information. They help people understand what is happening, recognize what matters, and determine what to do next.

Understand the work before redesigning the workflow.

The interface should reflect how people make decisions, manage exceptions, collaborate, and respond to changing conditions.

Prioritize the problem before committing to a feature.

Defining the underlying need creates room to explore smaller, clearer, and more effective product responses.

Make important information easier to recognize.

Hierarchy, context, status, and relationships help users understand complex information without unnecessary searching.

Product Decision Lenses

Product decisions must work from more than one perspective.

Every experience exists within a larger system of people, goals, technology, processes, risks, and organizational constraints.

User

What are people trying to accomplish?

I examine user goals, behaviors, needs, expectations, frustrations, and the conditions surrounding their work.

Workflow

Where does the work become difficult?

I look for interruptions, duplicated effort, hidden dependencies, manual workarounds, delays, and unclear handoffs.

Business

What outcome should the product support?

Product direction should connect to adoption, efficiency, retention, service, revenue, risk reduction, or another meaningful business result.

System

What technical conditions shape the experience?

Data availability, system integrations, permissions, dependencies, performance, and implementation constraints affect the solution.

Organization

What must change beyond the interface?

Training, ownership, communication, governance, policy, and operational processes can influence whether a product succeeds.

Outcome

How will we know the decision worked?

I define measurable signals that help the team evaluate whether the experience improved user behavior and product performance.

I have designed experiences for dispatchers, drivers, freight brokers, students, administrators, and business teams working across complex workflows and connected systems.

These environments require more than visual simplicity. They require clear information hierarchy, meaningful status, operational context, exception handling, accessible interactions, and support for decisions that may carry real consequences.
